Meet Tinker!

9-Year-Old Little Owyhee Mustang Mare | 14.2 HH

This sweet girl is looking for her next partner! Tinker is a beautiful 9-year-old Little Owyhee Mustang mare with a personality that is truly hard to beat. She's affectionate, curious, willing, and has been working consistently in a lesson program with our 10-year-old daughter for the past year.

As much as we adore her, we've realized that Tinker and our daughter are simply a little too green for each other. Tinker has so much potential, but she would benefit from a more experienced, balanced rider who can continue her training and help build her confidence.

She does very well under our trainer and is a capable mare, but she is sensitive in the mouth and needs a rider with steady hands and an independent seat. She is not quite forgiving enough of the inconsistencies that naturally come with a young, developing rider.

On the ground, Tinker is an absolute sweetheart. She has a wonderful demeanor and a curious personality. She can be a little unsure of unfamiliar things, but she isn't one to dramatically overreact. Give her a little time to investigate and settle in, and she generally takes things in stride.

This is a difficult decision for our family because she really is a special horse. We simply want to find her a home where she can continue to thrive with someone who has the experience to bring out her best.

Best suited for a confident intermediate to experienced rider or someone working regularly with a trainer. Not being sold as a beginner or first horse.
