Westley has spent the last several years developing into a lovely, versatile horse with an especially flashy, eye-catching way of going. He originally trained in the hunter world in Colorado, where he jumped through 2’6”. After moving to Michigan, we transitioned into dressage, where he is currently competing at First Level with scores in the 70%. He has been schooling shoulder-in, leg yield, simple changes, and other First Level work, and he continues to become stronger and more confident in his dressage education. With his movement, versatility, and continued training, I would love to see him with someone who wants to keep developing him through the levels. Westley is an incredibly sweet, curious horse who genuinely enjoys having a relationship with his person. Under saddle, he tends to be more of a push ride and is very willing to work. He can occasionally get strong off property, but comes right back when given clear direction and kept thinking forward. He is not mean or naughty and truly has a very kind heart. I believe he would be a lovely match for an adult amateur or junior working consistently with a trainer, or for a professional looking for a talented horse to continue developing. At home, Westley is accustomed to being ridden alone. He has been excellent trailering off property for lessons, works well around other horses, and handles busy competition warm-up arenas without issue. He loads well, clips, bathes, and stands beautifully for both the farrier and veterinarian. He currently lives outside 24/7 in a small herd and is very happy with that lifestyle. Soundness & Veterinary History Westley is currently sound with no limitations. He wears front shoes during competition season and is barefoot during the winter. He does have a previous surgical history involving successful stabilization of a small bone cyst in the left radius. He returned fully to work following surgery and has had no resulting lameness. Additional information and veterinary records are available to serious inquiries. Bloodlines Westley has lovely European bloodlines, including Bon Coeur as his sire and Walldorf as his grandfather.
