Chisel… where do I start? He’s a unique, quirky dude, and I know everything about him. I bought him as a two year old from the gal who bred him, and we’ve done a little bit of everything together. The honest truth is that he and I just don’t click. I bought him as a barrel prospect, but I think he’d rather have a different job. He’s been headed on at practices and done well at jackpots (no rodeos yet), gone into the mountains and does great out there, and has helped us work colts. I could see him enjoying ranch work, roping, mountain miles, or possibly be a pickup horse with the right person. If you want to try barrels, that’s your call — I just don’t think it’s what he’d choose. Chisel doesn’t want to poke aimlessly around an arena. He does best with a purpose, consistent work, and a confident, experienced person who can be clear and firm with him. In my experience, he seems to respond better to men, though the right fit matters more than anything. He has quirks, and I’m happy to tell you all about them. I care a lot about where he goes and want to be upfront so he finds someone who understands him and will put him to work. Please inquire only if you have the experience and time for him. I have plenty of photos and videos. Message me if you think Chisel might be your kind of horse!
