Meet Canyon (registered as Bright Summer Sun Rise), a striking 9-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter gelding standing at 14.2 hands with a unique look featuring one blue eye and one brown eye. He is a true "been-there-done-that" type who loves water and baths, stands completely still for grooming, tacking, mounting, and dismounting, and will slide right over to you if you step up on anything to get on.
Trail & Weather Reliability: An exceptional trail horse that logs miles every week, stays calm through thunder, lightning, rain, and darkness, and crosses any hill or slope you point him at. He rides comfortably in a large group or completely alone.
Desensitization & Exposure: Incredibly desensitized, having been around dogs, cats, chickens, goats, cows, other horses, buffaloes, tractors, 2-stroke dirt bikes, wheelers, skid steers, backhoes, and parades.
Training & Ride Style: Smooth, very sweet, side-passes right (and left, though prefers the right), backs up fast, and has lots of energy and "go". Note: Because of his energy level, he is best suited for an experienced rider rather than a beginner.
Ground Manners & Handling: Loads and unloads properly, handles fly spray with ease, stands tied, and picks up all feet well for the farrier. He has no bad habits like kicking, biting, or bucking.
Veterinary Inspection: Backed by an official equine inspection from Harrison Animal Clinic (Dr. Heath Jones, DVM) dated October 10, 2023, verifying a bright, alert demeanor, normal vitals, and sound movement.
