“Aspen” is a 10 year-old OTTB mare, sired by Paddy o’ Prado who ran 3rd in the 2010 Kentucky Derby. Paddy o’ Prado is by the incredible El Prado (IRE) by Sadler’s Wells.
Fun Paddy had 58 starts on the track with 6 wins, 6 places, and 8 shows, amassing $221K in lifetime earnings.
3 years since her track career she’s made 2 beautiful Warmblood fillies, a proven broodmare with zero complications.
Her kind and nurturing demeanor transfers into her work ethic.
Aspen has been restarted after weaning her latest filly early July. She’s currently regrowing mass and muscle, while developing strength and balance. She’s incredibly reasonable, so much we were able to shoot some archery arrows off her for fun!
She loads, bathes, clips, stands for farrier, and stands quietly at the mounting block. She has ridden off the property without any issues. She’s developing lateral movements and a more balanced canter, while her walk and trot is consistent.
Training progress will continue as long as she’s here. This mare is TOO SWEET, and really needs a partner. ❤️
