Meet Jean! ❤️

Jean is a very sweet 30-year-old Morgan mare looking for a loving, permanent retirement/companion home.

Jean has always had a personality of her own. She is determined and feisty, and when she was younger she definitely had some FIRE! She has mellowed with age, but that little bit of spirit is still part of who she is.

Jean is blind in her left eye and has a lameness issue, so she is not being offered as a riding horse. She is looking for a quiet retirement home where she can live comfortably with other horses and be loved as a companion.

She is somewhat timid, especially in unfamiliar situations, and because of her vision she may need some extra patience and help when first settling into a new home. She is generally pretty easy to catch once she knows you.

Jean has a particularly strong bond with one of our horses, who is the herd leader. She loves him, and we believe his calm, confident presence helps her feel safe. We think she can eventually adjust to another horse, but she may need time to settle in and form a new bond.

She eats the same basic feed as our other horses without much trouble.

Jean is very loved, and finding her the right home is important to us.We are looking for a true forever home where she can peacefully live out her retirement with someone who understands and appreciates a senior horse with special needs.

Companion/retirement home only — no riding.

Located near Lancaster, PA. New home must be able to arrange pickup/transportation.
