Meet “Sammy” a.k.a. “Jack’s New Doll”, a registered AQHA mare. She is 12 years old and stands at about 14.3-15 hands. Asking 12,000 but open to any offers - we just want a good home for her. More pictures and videos available on request. Here is some basic manners she has: -Ties and will stand still -Loads in the trailer -Stands for the farrier -Stands for saddle and bridle -She isn’t spooky (camping, trail riding, riding on a busy road, riding by loud construction, etc) -She has stayed in a pasture, small outdoor corral, camping pen, and indoor stall -She is really easy to catch even if she is in her large pasture -She is loves a bath and isn’t shy to the hose at all, even around her head -She is not buddy sour and is happy riding off alone or staying with groups -She is friendly with other horses -She doesn’t bite or kick. She has bucked under saddle before when not being worked regularly She mostly rides western, but I have recently put some miles on her with English tack and direct contact. She is able to switch between no direct contact with Western riding and direct English rein very easily. She has done lots of mountain trails and trailblazing in cattle country. When she was doing 8hr days in the mountains in Idaho, she had endless energy and could carry on long after the other horses got tired. She can be roped off of - although I am not a roper, so she probably needs someone who knows what they are doing to remind her how to be roped off of. She has done some rodeo - heading, heeling, sorting, etc (She is not fast enough to go pro with this, but she does enjoy chasing a cow). We went camping at Montana De Oro State Park and rode on the beach. The water was a bit wild that day, but after just a minute of convincing, she went right into the water. She would do best with an intermediate rider of any discipline. She would make a great project horse for a 4-Her or Pony Club member. She is truly an all-arounder. She can be a little mare-ish and tries to see what she can get away with, so she will need a rider who is confident enough to keep her on track. When she is being ridden pretty regularly (3-4 times a week), she is wonderful. We are selling her because she needs more days a week under saddle than we are currently able to give her. We think she would do amazing for someone who wants to give her a job - ranching, trail riding, 4H or FFA show horse, etc If you have any questions or would like clarification on anything let me know! I am also happy to arrange test rides and meet and greets!! We are asking 12,000 but very open to offers! Feel free to text or call me!
