Akeelah is a registered 18yr old Morgan mare standing at 14 hands tall but nice and stout. Akeelah both rides and drives and she is safe. She is NOT easily spooked and she’ll go anywhere out on the trails with NO hesitations and she doesn’t care one bit about traffic. She has great ground manners and stands excellent for the farrier. She loads and hauls fine stands good for tacking and mounting. She gets along in a mixed herd and she’s easy to catch.

She’s an easy keeper with NO maintenance required. She’s a blast to ride for someone that knows how to ride. She is not for beginners or anyone that likes a slow horse because Akeelah does like to move out. She is a forward moving mare. If you are walking it’s a power walk. Trotting it’s going to be a faster trot and her canter is fast too. She’s controllable, but she likes to go and move out. She will leave home alone just fine with her buddy whinnying and carrying on out in the pasture as we leave and she NEVER even tries to turn around or whinny back.

So she’s a very sane and sensible mare, but she’ll never be a deadhead. She’s the same horse if you throw her out in pasture and don’t ride for a year. She’s absolutely safe that way and there’s no guessing with her she’s just down to earth and ready to go to business. So if you like a forward horse Akeelah is that horse.

I’ve literally taken her everywhere you can imagine down the trail and she has never refused to go. She will go up the steepest hills and down the steepest hills. She’ll cross rivers and tiny little mucky creeks. She never loses her head and she’s NOT a spooky mare. She’s seen EVERYTHING there is to see on a trail and she’ll go anyplace you point her.
