⭐️FANCY LIKE COOKIE⭐️
Churro is a kind and naturally gentle AQHA 4 year old gelding. Standing 14.1 and a stout 1075# pounds, he’s ready to join you on your next adventure. Whether you like ranch work, trails, ranch riding show classes, or even mounted shooting, this sweet guy is ready to go wherever you want to go.
Churro has been with our family for a little over a year and has done a little bit of everything with us. He has gathered and moved cattle on steep and rough terrain, with a good mind about it all and good care for his feet and picking his path through the tough places. He took to roping and doctoring cattle outside with ease, showing good cow sense and a quietness through the process. He is safe in the branding pen and has a similar relaxed demeanor as he does outside roping. He doesn’t get flustered when sorting, though he’s not ready to win any cutting classes.
He is quiet in a group of horses, whether in the front or back. He rides out alone pretty well, but likes to come home a little quicker when by himself. As his experience with that continues to grow I would expect that he’ll be as good alone as he is in a group. Crossing water or mud is no problem, and he is not typically concerned or spooky of wildlife or man made things.
Churro is easy to catch and handle, quiet to saddle and bridle, good to trim and shoe, current on all vaccines/deworming/dentistry, and generally pleasant to be around. He enjoys all the attention he can get. He has no vices, quirks, or injuries, though he currently has a ding on the outside of his right front fetlock that exhibits no lameness, but does have some swelling. He has good feet that held up well for the significant part of a year barefoot, only recently being shod. In less rocky areas I think he could go back to being barefoot easily.
He has a basic understanding of arena work, but most of his riding time has been spent outside on the ranch. He handled the excitement and newness of the show pen well, riding as well there as he does at home. He’s competed in ranch riding and ranch trail, showing a chill attitude about the new trail obstacles, and being quiet while being tied or waiting at the gate. With time off he is quicker at the walk and a little less snappy in his responses to cues, a little more concerned about being with other horses rather than alone, but is safe to ride off to work. We have given him a month off, saddled up, and gone right to work with no fuss, just a little extra energy.
