If you’re looking for a steady, experienced horse with a serious “been there, done that” résumé, this sweet gentleman deserves your attention!
This 18-year-old, unregistered Tennessee Walking Horse has extensive experience as a field trial horse. He is accustomed to large groups of horses, dogs running nearby, ATVs, traffic, trailering, traveling, and riding in busy environments. While other horses are wondering whether that suspicious stump is planning an attack, he handles the world like a seasoned professional.
He is wonderful on the trail and will ride alone or comfortably in a group. He crosses mud and water, handles traffic well, and takes new situations in stride. He stands quietly for mounting from the ground or a mounting block and allows his rider to dismount from either side.
Ride him on a loose rein and enjoy a relaxed walk or smooth gait, or shorten the reins and ask him to move out. He also has a lovely canter and lunges well.
This is the kind of experienced, confidence-building horse that can be hard to find. He may be a wonderful match for someone who wants a sensible trail partner without the drama, theatrics, or imaginary monsters hiding behind every mailbox.
His previous owner moved on to other activities, so he spent some time relaxing in the pasture. He is currently barefoot and will need consistent conditioning to return to full fitness.
Sweet, kind, gentle, and personable, this seasoned gentleman has a wealth of experience and plenty to offer. He would be an excellent choice for someone searching for a trustworthy “been there” horse to enjoy on the trails, at group rides, or around the farm.
