Dakota is located at our ranch in Arkansas with us and all of our horses, but shipping is included in our price! We ship world-wide and use professional equine transports.
Dakota is a gorgeous 5-year-old, 15-hand Friesian cross mare with an incredibly unique look and all the presence you would expect from a Friesian! Her beautiful blue roan color makes her especially striking—and she’s actually the first blue roan Friesian cross we’ve ever owned.
Dakota is a fancy, eye-catching mover who rides both English and Western. She has that classic Friesian movement, with plenty of expression and presence, and we think she would be an especially fun prospect for dressage or Western dressage. She’s athletic, responsive, and enjoyable to ride, with the versatility to go from arena work to a relaxing day out on the trails.
One of our favorite things about Dakota is her confidence. She doesn’t spend her time looking for things to spook at and is exceptionally brave when you take her somewhere new. Out on the trails, around the farm, or working through our obstacle course, she is willing and dependable and will go right where you point her. Water, bridges, logs, obstacles, and new surroundings don’t faze her—she approaches everything with a confident, can-do attitude.
Dakota does have a naturally quicker walk and is a little more forward than some of the quieter, slower horses we offer. She isn’t hot or unsafe, and her forwardness is very manageable, but a particularly timid rider who prefers a horse they have to constantly encourage may be more comfortable with one of our slower-going horses. For someone who appreciates a responsive horse that willingly moves out when asked, Dakota is a lot of fun to ride.
On the ground, she’s every bit as sweet as she is beautiful. Dakota has a wonderful, in-your-pocket personality and genuinely enjoys being around people. She loves attention, grooming, and, of course, treats! She’s the kind of mare that enjoys having her person and will happily soak up all the attention you want to give her.
Between her rare blue roan color, beautiful Friesian movement, sweet disposition, and fearless attitude, Dakota is a really special mare. Whether you’re looking for a striking English or Western mount, a dressage or Western dressage prospect, or simply a confident and beautiful partner to enjoy on the trails, Dakota has the looks, personality, and versatility to stand out wherever she goes.
