RAFI — A GENTLE GIANT WITH SO MUCH TO OFFER
Standing at an impressive 17.1hh, Rafi is a substantial purebred Irish Draught gelding with a wonderfully kind nature and breeding that includes the renowned Crosstown Dancer.
Born in Ireland in 2020 and imported to the UK in 2025, he has proved himself a superb, reliable hunter. We are now looking for a very special, long-term home where he will be loved as much as he deserves.
A temperament to treasure
Rafi is genuine, affectionate and beautifully laid-back. He loves a cuddle and will happily stand to be bathed, clipped and pampered—even enjoying having his mane and tail pulled! Human attention is his favourite thing, and beneath his impressive size is a soft, loving character.
He is excellent with the farrier and dentist, and loads and travels happily, both alone and in company. He has no known stable vices or medical history.
A versatile gentleman with a love of hunting
Rafi has enjoyed pleasure rides, cross country and some showjumping, alongside schooling nicely on the flat. He has plenty to offer a home looking to enjoy a variety of activities, with the kind, willing attitude that makes spending time with him such a pleasure.
Hunting holds a special place in his heart, and his experience, manners and enthusiasm really shine through in the hunting field—a lovely strength alongside his wider experience.
He takes hunt fences, rivers and varied country in his stride and has regularly been trusted to accompany children on their ponies or give a husband a thoroughly enjoyable day’s hunting.
Despite his size, he is light to ride, making him an appealing prospect for a lady rider who enjoys a substantial horse without a heavy feel.
Out hunting, he has been calm and patient, standing quietly, comfortable around the hounds and happy to wait when asked. When more is required, he will step up to the bigger country fences, remaining polite and willing.
Kind on the ground, mannerly under saddle and happiest sharing his day with people, Rafi is a lovely example of the Irish Draught temperament we all treasure.
A very special home is sought for this much-loved gentle giant. Please message for further details and videos.
Export easily organised from the UK - this is additional to Rafi's price.
