Meet Little Southern Sunrise, affectionately known as Aspen! If you’re looking for a seasoned, well-traveled Missouri Fox Trotter with a level head, a naturally smooth gait, and a love for seeing the country, Aspen deserves your attention.

At 11 years old, Aspen has had the opportunity to experience some beautiful country. He’s traveled extensively through the mountains and scenic trails of Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and Missouri, giving him valuable miles and experiences in a variety of settings. He’s the kind of horse that brings a little more confidence and enjoyment to the ride, letting you take in the scenery instead of worrying about what’s around the next bend.

Trail Experience: Aspen has seen his fair share of mountain country and knows what it means to get out and cover some ground. From the rugged beauty of the Rockies to the scenic trails of Missouri, he’s had the opportunity to experience miles of adventure. He’s a seasoned trail partner with the experience to appreciate a good day’s ride.

Temperament: One of Aspen’s greatest attributes is his level-headed disposition and sweet, sweet nature. He has a sensible, steady mind that makes him an enjoyable partner to have along. He brings a reassuring presence to the ride, with a good mind and a willingness to enjoy the journey. He’s the first one to greet you at the gate too! I call him my golden retriever!

Gait & Riding Experience: As a registered Missouri Fox Trotter, Aspen offers the smooth, comfortable gait the breed is so well known for. His naturally smooth way of traveling makes covering miles more enjoyable, especially on longer rides. Whether you’re taking in a quiet afternoon on the trail or heading out for another mountain adventure, a comfortable ride makes all the difference.

Hauling: Aspen loads and hauls well, making traveling with him that much easier. Whether you’re heading across the state for a weekend ride or planning your next big adventure, he’s ready to go.

Riding Skills: Aspen is easy to ride because his gait is smooth, his mind is on his job, and his rider. He has a great neck rein so you can ride one-handed. He is soft in the mouth, responsive to leg cues, side passes, and backs up; he has a nice stop and pivot, and he will come to either side for mounting. If you want him to do anything, just ask, and he will do it.

Cattle work: With his great mind and handle, he makes a solid work companion for moving and sorting cattle. He’s an all-around great companion that would be an amazing addition to anyone’s life.

There’s something special about a horse that has seen so much of the country and still has plenty of adventures ahead. Aspen has miles behind him and many more to make with his next person.

If you’re looking for a registered Missouri Fox Trotter with a smooth gait, a level head, and experience traveling through some beautiful country, Little Southern Sunrise may be just the horse you’ve been looking for.
