I purchased Dewey for his personality and because I wanted to learn dressage, but my Arabians and endurance events do not allow enough time for me to do this great horse justice. He is an 8 year old registered warmblood Dutch Harness Horse with no vices. He has competed successfully to 2nd level, but is more solid 1st level. He was most recently showing in 2021 with his previous owner. I would like to find him a person who wants to start at training level, establish a partnership, and build on it. I have been trail riding him a lot and my friends love riding him as much as I do. He loads without issue and is happy to go alone or with others. Temperament details for the 6: He is a complete joy in terms of ground manners. Under saddle he is not brave, but also not spooky. Very honest when he’s feeling unsure and lets his rider get him through it. He is always more curious than afraid. Does not do anything dirty, but is forward and can dance around a bit when he is coming to terms with strange things. He is kind, talented and loves to be asked new questions. That said, he is true to his breed. I would not describe his trot as comfortable to sit, but you’ll never find yourself on the forehand. If you are riding him in the ring, he wants to work. He is not a horse to just plod around the ring lazily on. He wants a job. That said, if you’re on the trail you may find yourself riding on the buckle. He started his life with the Amish so has probably driven, but I have no knowledge of this. We have not tried jumping him. He’s not the bravest horse, but with a confident, experienced rider he could probably jump. Hoping to sell him to someone who will use his strengths in dressage and on the trail. He wants to be a pet as much as an athlete and I am looking for a person who has a trainer to help unlock his potential and the time for a heart horse. Dewey is an athlete with a gentle spirit who will take someone on a lot of adventures. Bring your trainer and come try him. Farm has a ring, round pen, and trails for your test ride.
