“Star” is looking for his new family! He has been owned by the same woman for the last 10 years & unfortunately is looking for his new home as she gets older. Star has tons of trail miles and is not phased by anything. He is happy to go alone or in a group and be in the lead, middle, or back. He also has miles in the local low level hunters, jumpers, and eventing. He is somewhat forward to the fence so a bolder intermediate rider is preferred for jumping. He is up to date on everything & haul, leads, loads, ties, etc. impeccably. His owner would love to see him go to another mother daughter duo. In his owners words: Star came into my life as a 6-year-old; when my dear friend (Barbara Fink of Dream Catcher Morgans) Quincy, California passed away. My daughter was preparing to start Law School; and my career was at a point I had more time to give. We agreed to find a horse that suited both of us and as the search began. About a week later; I got news of Barbara’s passing and the family needed to sell the horses. After attending the funeral; I went to view the horses and especially the two horses, we were considering. A 9-year-old gelding, that was fully trained and had been shown; and a 6-year-old with 90 days of training as a 3-year-old and spent his life in pasture with his family of all ages of horses. As I searched for the 9-year-old; Star was always by my side, nudging my shoulders and standing in front of me. Not sure I ever did get a good look at the 9-year-old; but there is a saying that a “Morgan is the horse that chooses you”. He came home the next week and became a jumper for my daughter and a nice quiet trail horse for Mom. After a few years, my daughter moved to Nashville to start her career; and I moved to Kuna to enjoy retirement and country life. As the years have passed; I find it more difficult to ride and not live in the chiropractor’s office. Additionally, I want what is best for him; and realize it is time to find that special family, who can give him the life he deserves. When you first meet him; you will find, he acts more like a puppy wanting attention. But as you turn him out into the arena for exercising; the head tosses, the tail goes up and he prances and blows out loud to get attention and show his stuff. But fear not; once done, the head goes down and he wanders back quietly to get his treat or love and attention. Rolling is also top priority. Star is healthy, sound, a very easy keeper on grass hay, barefooted, loves attention, grooming and baths, and will do most anything for a treat. He loves dogs, cats, and children as he is quite curious. On trail, he is content in any position, leading or following. He loves taking in the scenery and will stop along the way just to take in all the beauty of his Idaho home.
