Julip is a rare find for those looking for a fancy small horse. She is sensible enough to teach a young rider the ropes taking a step up from a pony, and talented enough for a small adult to enjoy training and competing at recognized shows. 16 years young and just a hair shy of 15h (151.5 cm). Julip is the quintessential “been there done that” youth mount. She’s competed in recognized USEA Events, swims, trail rides bareback and bridle-less, in hand USDF Breed Shows, and gallops along with friends at hunter paces. Most recently Julip has focused on dressage with “her kid”. she has taken to dressage as easily as everything else, and has been very competitive through First level at large recognized shows like GMHA and NEDA Spring. She has Training Level scores through 76.7% at D4K! Notably, she came in 3rd Overall at the D4K Youth Festival in 2023. She has schooled parts of 3rd level last fall, including two clean flying changes, and half passes all with her junior rider. Her canter is big and scopey, her walk is clear and active, trot is clever with a true lengthening. There is a lot of potential left in her trot to develop for a serious rider. She has many, many years of competitive riding ahead. She loads, stands on the crossties and is good for the farrier and vet. She can be opinionated and a little bossy on the ground, so a confident but kind partner is best suited. Julip does have a past medical history that may limit her jumping to a degree, which is reflected in her price. However, we have no concerns about a sales vetting. She measures exactly 151.5 cm (just shy of 15h) as measured in 2023 at an official USEF Measurement Inspection, where she also passed the veterinary jog. Julip is in training with USDF Gold Medalist Zoë Flannery of Wide Pine Farm in Barrington, NH. She is currently reviewing her 3rd level work, and when we can put together a video schooling at Third Level her price *will* increase dramatically. We expect it will not take long to dust off those cobwebs. Scoop her up now before we get that far!
