Pixi, is a 4 yr old, Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse . She is the most naturally talented trail riding horse I have had in a long time. Purchased by a friend in Kentucky who has a good eye for horses, I picked her up in May to develop over the summer. The first 2 months I spent getting to know her inside and out. Teeth, feet, chiropractic, bodywork and lots of in hand work on balance and symmetry. Next 2 months we loaded up and hit the trail - 5 camping trips and lots of rides. She has not put a foot wrong. Carefully introduced to water and mud on first trip and since then every time she is braver and better. Winner of a trail trial, 9 miles with 10 obstacles, many things she had not done before but so willing to give anything a go. I think she will make a very competitive NATRC horse. The best horse I have had about drinking at every opportunity, will bravely go in front, or equally happy to tuck in behind and go slow, ties very reliably. Comfortable to ride with good walk, easily moves up into running walk gait, trot and canter, Really quite amazing for a 4 yr old. Has had teeth done by Natural Balance Dentistry (no powerfloat), good feet – has had 3 sets of shoes now. Happy in a stall for the fly season but lives out in the herd, she is near top of the order and takes care of herself, first to come to be caught. Very comfortable on highline when camping, will lay down, Good traveler, loads willingly, All of this in a young 4 yr old is impressive. She still has lots of maturing to do but has so much going for her it is lovely.
