We purchased Ford for my 9yr old daughter just a little over a month ago and unfortunately they are just not clicking. Previous owners used him as a 4-h/open show horse. They showed him at the local fair this year and did pretty good. We were wanting to use him as a 4-h horse and trail horse around the farm. I think he needs a little more of an advance beginner with a trainer or someone more experienced working with them together, or an advance rider outside the arena. He does just fine being ridden in the arena, which I do believe is what he has been trained to do most his life. He is a little spooky outside the arena however. My husband rode him (a very inexperience rider) on the trails once and he did great for him. I think a younger person, like my daughter, would have a little more difficult time if he spooked and ran. I think he would make a great trail horse as he is a big boy, but just needs more time on the trails. I do have a few pictures I can send of him saddled up. Price is semi negotiable as we would like to get what we gave for him not too long ago.
