She’s so smart and learns very quickly. She wants to get the answer right and wants to please. She’s a big strong girl with nice big solid feet. I’ve kept her barefoot, but she has been shod. She likes to work. She loves the wide open. She’ll cross anything, or go anywhere out on the trail. She loves the water. She rides two handed or one, split reins or romels. Has worked well with any bit I’ve put in her mouth. Good off of legs and seat. Has an amazing side pass. Great back, can stop and turn around. Can open and close gates all day. Good with leads and does a simple and flying change. Kind and easy to bridle. Will side pass up to a mounting block if you need it to get on. Stands to be mounted. Stands great for grooming and saddling. Excellent with her feet and legs. Enjoys a bath. Trailers great. Has been hauled all over. Been to the beach. Has camped overnight. Has worked a flag and cows. Has been shown in ranch versatility (r-riding, r-reining, r-rail, r-pleasure, r-trail and boxing). Has great speed transitions and has done very well in rail classes. Goes whatever speed you ask until you change it. Progress her show career, or I think she would be a great ranch horse, but with her she needs proper exposure to new things before she’ll do them/accept them. Like roping. I’ve never thrown a rope off of her. I have drug off of her. She can be looky. She’s very alert and aware of her surroundings. Nothing is getting by her. I say she has a high self preservation instinct. She has days where she is absolutely amazing, and could be successfully ridden by almost anybody, but she has days that I would call her alertness scary for an inexperienced or timid rider. I can ride her bareback and bridleless in an enclosed space on a good day. I’ve had inexperienced riders on her in the right environment. At her worst she does not want to pay attention to her rider, she wants to focus on whatever it is she is concerned about. In those moments she gets “pissy” with head tossing and tail swishing. She has never bolted, but she has spun around a time or two, and has definitely jumped sideways. She’s more the all business type mare, but she is very kind and she has a way of letting me know I am her person. She is not mean spirited in any way. Even if she is focused on something else she is always aware of where you are at on the ground. I also think with proper exposure she could excel in trail challenge stuff. I have done an ETS challenge on her and done well. I think she would probably excel with a calm, soft yet assertive, get the job done rider. She’s been a great partner, and we’ve done many things together over the last 6/7 years. I never thought I’d sell her or even consider it. I am only selling her to get a more suitable horse for my daughter. She is not for an inexperienced horse person. She does have a few flaws to ask about and they’re reflected in her price. This is an amazing horse for the right person.
