Paulino, "Chance" is a 5 y/o OTTB. He retired from racing completely sound in 2022 with no injuries and just 7 starts. I purchased Chance in June 2023 and he has been w/t/c and trotting over ground rails. I purchased him with the intentions of training him hunter/jumper through summer, but unfortunately I injured myself and am looking to find Chance a new home sooner than intended as I need 2 months off from riding. I had around 10 rides on him prior to my injury. He is very willing and has a great brain. He needs a bit of leg and help picking up the canter, but has a very comfortable canter once picked up. Chance is an all around good boy and has had more whoa than go thus far but should have an experienced confident rider to continue his training as he is still learning ring etiquette and is still green. Has not yet been started over fences. Loves any form of attention and being groomed and is a sweet boy, in your pocket personality. Currently he lives out 24/7, and is barefoot. He loads, ties, tacks up, bathes, comes right up to you in the field, etc. Exposed to kids, bikes, cows, cars, tractors. No spook, rear, buck. I do want to mention that after having Chance for over two months, he was seen cribbing once on the fence in the field for the very first time. We through a strap on him to be safe, and this has stopped him. We think he may have started this due to inactivity / boredom since I currently cannot ride. I do not think this will become an issue since he was only seen doing this once. Lastly, for full disclosure , Chance through in a "proud of himself" romp with a rider after having 3 weeks off. This was the first and only time this occured, so it is assumed Chance just needs to get back into consistent work as he is typically a very quiet and laid back ride. Because of what was mentioned above, along with me not being able to ride currently due to my injury, I have dropped Chance's price to $2,500 which I feel is a total steal for this handsome boy. Chance has tons of potential, he just needs consistency and a confident rider. Videos under saddle available!
