With beautiful, engaged movement and a fantastic length of stride, MF Proud Chieftain can add size and substance without losing quality of gait. He also offers a highly athletic uphill build with a great top line and shoulder angle, allowing for significant impulsion from behind. This, united with his natural jumping ability, makes him an ideal breeding stallion for performance with many attributes for improving upon a mare.
While just embarking on his ridden and performance career, MF Proud Chieftain is showing exceptional aptitude for his foundation work in dressage while displaying excellent jumping bascule. In addition to his easy workman attitude and engaged movement, he is one of few standing Irish Draught stallions that directly represents the rare foundation line of Woodranger (RID 24), renown for soundness and handiness over fences. He also carries the performance bloodline of Skippy, who sired international Advanced Eventing stallion Jumbo (ranked in the top ten of the WBFSH’s Eventing Sire Rankings for seven consecutive years and who produced multiple Badminton, Burghley and Lexington winners) and Clover Hill (five consecutive years ranked on the IHB’s list of sires of successful show jumpers).
MF Proud Chieftain is a purebred Irish Draught stallion who was awarded Class 1 at his stallion inspection. This means he has already gone through the rigorous inspection process that includes extensive X-rays, soundness exam and scoping to assess for the presence of potential heritable defects. Beyond being awarded Class 1 at inspection, MF Proud Chieftain has also been tested for genetic diseases know to be present in the Irish Draught and continental warmblood breeds. He is not a carrier for any of the following: HWSD, WFFS, SCC, PSSM1.
He is color tested ee/aa.
All foals sired by MF Proud Chieftain can be registered with the Irish Draught Society of North America regardless of mare registrations status or breed.
A discounted stud fee of $650 for fresh/cooled breeding services is available for mares with performance records and includes a two-year live foal guarantee.
