I adopted Felix 3 years ago from a retired racehorse rescue, where he had mostly been sitting in a pasture with some groundwork and minimal work under saddle for the prior 4 years following rehab from a knee fracture on the racetrack. Re-started him slowly over the next 6-12 months, and he adapted very well to his new job learning basic dressage, some polework/small jumping. He is very cool to ride when he is focused and in consistent work, as well as plentiful turnout time, which I can no longer provide for him, and he can become "quirky"/difficult under saddle if he goes periods of time without being ridden, particularly in the winter. He has reared and bolted under saddle, I have treated him for ulcers twice before which has seemed to at least somewhat improve his signs, as well as change his saddle, etc. I simply do not have the time and resources needed to manage him year long as a happy, healthy riding horse- he deserves someone who does as he is naturally athletic and has potential to be a fun riding horse with an advanced/experienced rider/trainer. He is pretty and a nice mover but offering free to a good home as I consider him to still be somewhat of a project and may require regular maintenance. Crossties well, stands well for farrier, UTD on vaccines. X-rays of knee with old injury, and back available. Message for photos and more information.
