Poso Creek, aka "Blackberry" or "Berry," is a 2018 ottb with a big heart and big potential as a hunter/jumper. I bought him as a project a year ago, and he's come along quite nicely: I always got compliments on his unusual calmness for a baby ottb but his gaits have balanced out and slowed so much that now I need to teach him how to speed up again, something I never thought I'd say about an ottb! He's been doing small courses of jumps (2 ft and under) consistently for the past year, and always jumps with ease. Jumping is one of my weak points as a rider but he never complains when I land badly on his back or catch his mouth, he pretty much turns into a little lesson pony for our jumping lessons. He's a very friendly young horse who's always engaged with the world, always wants to see what's going on and always loves attention. He's pretty smart as well and picks things up quickly, however he occasionally overthinks in the arena and gets stressed out, which just means you have to pause and walk until he relaxes. He's a great guy, but he is young, which means he goes through phases and can be stubborn, so he does need an intermediate/advanced rider preferably with a trainer. His vices currently include nibbling on leather/cloth, stubbornness while lunging and occasional over-playfulness with people (not aggressive, though: he just needs a sharp "no" once in a while). I love him very very much, but my schedule is overwhelmed right now and I'm going off to college in the fall so I need to figure out a new situation for him. I would love to find a half-leaser for the next several months so I could continue working with him until I leave, but I'm also open to fully leasing him out now. Though I'd prefer a lease, sale is also an option. He's currently in a stall with turnout during the day, but he'd do really well in a paddock or 24/7 turnout. Prospective leasers/buyers don't need to be super experienced, but need to be patient and willing to learn with him!
