Tommy is a THICK gelding chock-full of personality and looking for his next rider. He has been showing in the 2’6 hunters under junior riders for the past few years both locally and on the A circuit (is more successful locally). Loves to have his person and has a puppy dog demeanor. He does require a trainer that is experienced with thoroughbreds and/or a rider with good feel. He goes around without a stick or spurs and prefers a quiet, but firm, hand and seat. Not suitable for someone super timid, but would love a game teenager or savvy AA looking to have some fun. He is typically more of a kick ride at home (still without spurs) with excellent rhythm and a comfortable jump, but can perk up at shows. Tommy trailers easily alone or in company, hacks out alone or in company, and has auto changes. He's a careful jumper and isn't spooky. Up to date on everything, wears shoes all around, minimal maintenance (hocks - just recently done for the first time), easy to handle on the ground. He does sport a minor swayback, something he was born with. I bought him off the track as a 4-year-old, and his structure hasn’t changed. A rider willing to put proper flatwork into him is ideal to support his longevity. He has some XC experience and could dabble in other disciplines as well. Lease also considered.
