She’s a beautiful mare that has been restarted slowly and correctly from the ground. My Trainer has ridden her at the walk and trot successfully in and out of the round pen. She is too much horse for my current goals, and we had hoped she would be my teen daughter’s step up jumping horse, but they aren’t a good fit for each other. Pros: She’s gorgeous and has been extremely healthy overall - no colic scares, etc. She learns quickly and retains what she’s learned well. She’s extremely athletic. She’s an easy keeper and does not have weight loss/underweight issues like many OTTBs. She has amazing bloodlines. She is good for the vet. She comes in when called from the pasture no matter the time of day or how far out she is. She is very sweet and follows everyone around like a puppy dog. She is super curious and always wants to know what I’m doing when working on the tractor, in the pasture or out on fences. She LOVES water, being bathed, and does great for fly spray. Cons: She doesn’t trailer load well, but once on she’s a wonderful traveler. I’m certain someone with time (and a trailer, I don’t own one) could really help her with trailer loading! In the past, her response if she was uncertain or felt too much pressure from the ground she would rear. She does not choose this answer anymore as she’s learned boundaries and that there are subtle ways to communicate, but this will be something I want her future owners to be aware of. She has only bucked once under saddle here but she had tripped in poor footing, stumbled forward and we believe got spooked by the rear cinch. She recovered well without bolting and finished her ride wonderfully. She has not been ridden since last late Fall. I was told by her previous owner she does not hard tie and will set back. I’ve never tried, and dont have a big enough barn for cross ties so I am unsure on this. She is a project and not for a beginner. She needs her person and someone who will be willing to put in time with her and to give her a “job” again. Georgia is goofy with a big personality, beyond athletic, and ready for her person. She would do best with someone that is patient, with a kind hand, and that can keep her in regular work as she does best with a job. She is a busy minded girl that needs to put that energy to good use. Georgia has recently had all normal hormonal blood panel testing and is negative for ECVM and no findings for kissing spine. With her impeccable bloodlines (Storm Cat, Consolidator, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, just to name a few!) she could make a great broodmare or recip mare prospect. Goergia had all of her vaccines & dental done at end of March and is negative for parasites. I will not let her go to someone looking to flip or trade her. She is very special to me, and while this is hard to do, I know it’s not fair for her to sit on her potential.
