Basil is 18 year-old paint gelding cross. He has been out of work for the past three years due to some health issues he had soon after I got him. He is looking for a step-down or retirement home where he can be loved and get some light exercise.

He had an issue with his hind left leg that will probably keep him from cantering soundly under saddle, and then he had laminitis. He is sound for light riding, but he's out of practice due to me not having the time to bring him back into work. He can be pushy and has been known to spook, so he's not suited for a timid equestrian.

Due to the laminitis, he has been kept on dry lots, but might be able to be on grass with a muzzle.

Basil has the best personality that you can't help but fall in love with. He stands well for grooming, bathing, and the farrier. He is currently barefoot.
