Bow-J is our 4 year old Cleveland bay X standardbred gelding. He currently stands just under the 17 hand mark, we expect him to mature to 17.1 as he finishes out. Bow-J is easy to handle with very solid and respectful ground manners, he walks alongside quietly wherever you lead him. Willing to please and content to do whatever is asked of him, he has made the hours poured into his training an absolute pleasure. Broke to ride and drive, he is solid both ways. In harness he has been hitched both single and double, and even hitched to farm equipment. He has been exposed to heavy machinery, dogs, small farm animals, etc.
He has been and is ridden mainly outdoors. He sports a big trot with a smooth lope and he transitions well. He walks with a loose rein, can be on the bit at the trot and canter but listens well. A very quick learner, he is being ridden consistently each week. He has the motor to go when asked but also willing to walk if his rider prefers. He has been out on trails as well, crossing water and logs alike. Need to hop off and adjust something? Not a problem for him, he stands quiet to mount! He enjoys jumping the logs so much that we could easily see him with a future in foxhunting or Eventing. With a little fine tuning he would make a wonderful low-level dressage mount. He would fit well with an intermediate rider or a training barn as he continues to advance!
An easy keeper in the field or the stall, easy to catch, stands to tie and for the farrier and vet. Loads easily and travels quietly.
