I purchased Squirt in 2021. She was 2 years old at the time. The plan was to have her be my last personal riding horse, as I am old. Since then, I have had 2 total knee replacements, as well as one revision total knee replacement, and time has gotten away from me. When Squirt was a 3 year old, I taught her to lunge, lunge with a saddle and to carry a bridle. Squirt took it all in stride. (when I teach a horse to lunge, I do NOT throw them in a round pen and make them run. To the contrary, we spend the first few days at a walk. This keeps the horse confident, and not feel rushed to take off and run) I did the exact same thing as a 4 year old. Sadly, Squirt has pretty much sat since then. Only to be pulled from pasture for farrier, dentistry, vaccinations, deworming etc.... I have come to the realization that I need a been there, done that kind of horse, as I am already into my 60's. Squirt is too good of a horse to live out her life in a pasture, without having a riding career. Squirt is the boldest horse I have owned. She is as spook-proof as they come. She would make a tremendous trail horse, jumping, eventing etc... She was doing effort rollbacks on her own in my arena as a 2 year old. She definitely has the speed to be a barrel/rope/breakaway horse if need be. Her legs have more bone than most full sized horses I have owned. In April 2025, we literally pulled her from pasture, away from her pasture mates, took the dreadlocks out of her mane and took photos and a quick video. She loved the attention. She trailers great, and she will stand tied all day long if she needed to. She is grade. Please note: No fault of her own, but Squirt has not been ridden yet.
