Looking for a versatile partner with a great brain and proven hunt field experience? Noble is an OTTB who was retired from the track for being too slow before ever racing. After years of a low-key life as a pasture puff with the occasional trail ride following his time at the track, I purchased this sweet gelding and he took to foxhunting like he was born for it. By just his third outing, he confidently handled the excitement of Opening Day in second field—no prep, no drugs. He stood like a gentleman at checks, kept a respectful distance in the field, and never pulled or rushed. His smooth, rhythmic canter makes him a joy to ride all day long. He hunted six times with Goshen Hounds during the 2024–2025 season. In the ring, he’s still green and a bit of a push ride, but he’s honest, willing, and has a daisy-cutter way of going. He’s been started over fences and has schooled coops, stone walls, logs, and more. He’ll lead or follow over fences but isn’t the point and shoot type while leading quiet yet— he’s quiet and waits for direction and encouragement to the fences when leading. No, he doesn’t have flying changes yet and isn’t going to be winning anything in the dressage ring tomorrow but he’s trainable. This guy trail rides out alone or in company, has done hunter paces and even a poker run. He loads easily, trailers well, ties, stands for the farrier, and generally makes life easy. Solid feet (can go barefoot but currently in fronts), easy keeper, and a middle-of-the-herd personality—he’d rather nap in the sun than cause a fuss. While he still has the occasional green moment, they’re rare and never nasty. Best suited for a confident intermediate or above who can continue his education and help him build strength and confidence. He passed a PPE in May 2024, with no known injuries or lameness. Located in Brookeville, MD. Mom of three young kids and prepping for a move, so showing opportunities are limited—potential buyers will be thoroughly vetted before scheduling a visit. 🙃 Text me for pictures and videos.
