Come and meet Lady! She is our special girl, and is looking for a new barn! Lady started out as my 8 year old daughter's first horse, and now is looking for more of a retirement home. (Walk/trot) TRAILS! ? Pros: 1. Many years in WAHSET, and drill team 2. 4-H Showing in Showmanship, Halter, English and Western Disciplines, trail, Dressage, bareback and gaming. 3. Gaming (Barrels, poles, etc) Placing 6th in the 2-D 12 and Under Division at a recent show in May! 4. Great on trails (can lead or follow- she doesn't care which!) 5. Great in the arena 6. Goes through obstacles in the arena for our "trail course" with no issues 7. Carries flags 8. Great for the farrier, and she is kept barefoot. She is a little tender-footed on some rocky roads, so she may need shoes or boots if doing heavy trail riding. 9. Loads into the trailer and backs out like a "Lady" that she is. 10. She used to do reining, as well! 11. Loves bathing, and is very calm and patient for kids to get the job done. 12. Does not mind dogs, quads, chickens, kids, etc- she has been on our farm and in other barns with alot of commotion, and doesn't bat an eye. 13. Is super easy to catch in the field- primarily coming straight up to the gate the minute she sees anyone coming! 14. Easy to halter and bridle 15. Easy to saddle- is not cinchy or ill-mannered 16. Will stand at the mounting block for mounting 17. Pastures well with mares or geldings. She is not really top or bottom of the herd- more of an in-between kind of gal. She doesn't let the other horses push her around, but also doesn't take any garbage. Cons: 1. Last year she was seen by a specialist from Central Washington Equine Clinic for her hind end, as she was a little stiff at times- mainly while riding at the lope. The Vet did not recommend her to need injections in her hocks or stifles- but he did put her on Firocoxib. She has been on that since, and it has helped her a lot! Every once in a while at the lope (primarily while doing patterns that require harder turns) she will let out a little crow hop, but then settles and is fine. Other than that, she has not offered any issues for my daughter (who is now almost 10), and she is able to handle her just fine! She is a very soft and timid rider at times, so if she can handle her, I truly think anyone could! 2. When being trailered with other horses, she likes to kick out sometimes. (once or twice, and then she settles.) I have noticed that it is primarily when she is in heat. She has never caused any injury or anything, I think it is just a mare thing. It is not consistent enough for me to pinpoint it. 3. I have a feeling she would do best with a lighter youth or adult rider, as she does great for my daughter and son. Walk/trot is where she does best! I have a TON of photos and videos of Lady being ridden on the trails, as well as in the arena, and also her at
