C This Heartbeat “Heartbeat” is a beautiful 17 year old TWH mare. Solid black except for her star. 15HH and more on the dainty side, she used to be a show horse and has been used as a trail horse the last few years. First one to meet you at the gate, she’s very friendly and easy to catch. Gets excited when she sees the saddle come out. Stands still as a statue for grooming, tacking, mounting and for the farrier. Loads without hesitation. She is currently pastured with a gelding and is below him on the totem pole, but I think she’d be a little bossy in the right setting. This girl is ALL GO. I prefer a horse I can slowly putt around the trail on, and that is not her. She listens and responds to cues, but has no woah. She’s never done anything dangerous under saddle with me, just extremely forward. Has a very smooth rack and if she does get lazy and pace it’s easy to correct. Also has an extremely fun and smooth canter! I would say she needs at least an intermediate rider due to her speed. She’s confident and will ride by herself or with someone else, but unless you’re riding with another fast mover or a motorized vehicle, you’ll be a mile ahead of everyone else...my slow poke TWH gelding has a hard time keeping up. Heartbeat has sense and good pasture manners, but is a little excitable, as you can see in the “hi horsey!” video. I think some desensitization work would do wonders for her, I just don’t have the time to work with her. Before I got her she was mostly stalled, and I don’t think she’s used to a lot of stimulation (and I have kids, dogs and ducks). She came to me shod on the front but has been barefoot for the past year with no issues. She has a custom made saddle and bridle that can be negotiated. Her halter, lead rope and winter blanket will go with her.
