Cricket was started under saddle at age 4, and competed in a couple of small cowboy dressage shows at age 5. I purchased him as a 5 year old to be my personal trail horse. I found that I don't have the time to devote to riding him, but he has an excellent start on him. He would make an excellent Western or English show horse; he is now starting to get out on trails and is going up and down steep hills, through brush, around obstacles, etc. He has yet to be introduced to creeks or ponds. Cricket is super fun, has a big motor, and wants to please. He has walk, trot, lope, stop, back up, one-rein stop, and simple changes. He is soft in the mouth and very comfortable to ride at all gaits. He is starting to soften more and beginning to work on leg-yield. He had roughly 90 days of professional training on him early this year. Video shown here was taken in June. Since July, he has been ridden, on average, once a week both inside and outside the arena. Cricket needs a confident, competent, and active rider who will give him miles and more hours in the saddle. He can be slow to warm up to new people, but once he knows you he is sweet and lots of fun to ride. When he understands what is being asked, he is kind and willing. He loads, ties, trailers, and is great for the farrier (including shoeing). He has good strong feet. Up to date on all shots. Cricket is compact and mighty like the original Morgan!
