Pros
River has come a long way since I rescued her in October 2024. Once she trusts you, she will give you everything she has. She really tries to understand what’s being asked of her and thrives with attention. I would consider her green broke, she stands to be saddled, we have never asked her to pack a bit and unfortunately, we don’t have a saddle that fits her, so she has only been ridden bareback. She hasn’t bucked, bit, bolted or kicked. She free lunges in a round pen as well as on a lunge line. She is middle man on the totem pole and loves mutual grooming. She has big strong hooves and is an easy keeper, she holds weight easily even through hard winters. She is UTD on her floats (She was floated December 2024) but would need her shots if being around several other horses. River would do best in a home with a knowledgeable equestrian willing to work with her on her insecurities and will bring her on lots of adventures!

Cons
River had a rough past; she was starved down to a body score of a 2-3 and was stuck on a property for an unknown amount of time with little to no care, she has NO food aggression but is very enthusiastic and food motivated. She is a nervous nelly when it comes to new things and absolutely will not respond to harshness. She does best with another horse when leaving the property as she gets very anxious alone. This goes with trailering as well, but I do believe this can be worked through with enough consistency. She has a hard time with standing still while tied, or when having her feet trimmed but has improved significantly and continues to improve every time. River has symptoms of sweet itch, but it is easily managed when she wears a fly sheet, Swat applied daily down her midline, and a supplement added to her diet.

Fly sheets, mask, winter blankets, and supplements will be sent to her forever home with her.

I will be extremely particular about where River goes. There will be a pre-sale home visit, after visits, and a buy back contract required.
