Meet Katie, a stocky and wide built quarter horse mare who is very responsive. She connects well with voice and touch. Purchased in January 2023 with very little handling from previous owner also born on the farm of previous owner. So I became her first owner and started her from scratch.
Was purchased with intention to use as a lesson horse in my english lesson program. Spent 60 days with a trainer in central Virginia in March and April 2024 then came back to my farm for further training and riding.
Has been schooled in W/T/C with more of her jump training in the field and on the trail. Schooled on poles and obstacles in the arena. She attended 1 hunter pace in Bedford, VA in July 2024. She doesn't spook at anything and goes where you ask her to go.
She's easy to take care of and is very attentive to aids on the ground or cues from the saddle. After working with her for the past 18 months it seems like she is better suited for a career in Western. She is quick under saddle and is doing well with listening to my seat with transitions. Someone who takes her as her partner will have many years of enjoyment with her. She's the kind of horse that will do best in a 1 person relationship. Not suitable for a lesson program due to her sensitive nature and desire to connect with one person. Make her your partner today!
