🐴 About Boston
Boston is quirky, sweet, and thrives on attention. She still has that endearing foal-like spark, making her a true barn favorite. While she used to be a “zero-spook, go-with-the-flow” kind of mare, she’s been out of work and is currently not in show shape.
🛠️ Current Status & Suitability
Boston would shine as a broodmare, with a recent clean ultrasound and ideal hormone profile.
She could return to riding and probably showing with a confident, knowledgeable, and very patient rider or trainer willing to recondition her.
🚫 NOT for beginners or kids at this time. Though her pictures may suggest otherwise, Boston needs consistency and structure.
⚠️ Disclosure of Past Injuries
• Right hock: Older injury with a scar – fully healed per Cleveland Equine, no lameness or ongoing issues.
• Front coronet band: Deep laceration developed proud flesh, now healed with minor raised scar.
These injuries are cosmetic and do not affect her soundness per vet evaluations.
💊 Health & Maintenance
• Recently treated for ulcers – currently maintained on Constant Comfort supplement
• SI joint injections and daily Equioxx for stiffness – she thrives with joint support when in work
• Requires front shoes year-round, pads in dry/show seasons
• Up to date on vaccines, deworming, farrier, and vet care
• Teeth float scheduled for next week
🧼 Ground Manners & Behavior
• Ties, trailers, clips (ears need twitching), stands for vet & farrier
• Easy to catch, no vices
• Neck reins, natural headset, soft mouth – prefers heavier leg and seat cues
• Can buck or kick out at the canter currently due to being out of shape
• Can be hot on the lunge line if not properly tacked
