Looking for a kind, been-there-done-that partner for 4-H or OHSET? Meet Ranger. He’s a big-hearted, easygoing gelding who’s been there and shown that — and still has plenty to give.
Ranger has competed successfully in both 4-H and OHSET, with wins under his belt, and would be an awesome match for a kid coming into either program. He’s calm, well-mannered, and very trainable. Always aims to please and has that sweet, doting personality everyone loves in a gelding.
He’s done a bit of everything:
• Hunt Seat
• Dressage
• Low Level Hunter Jumpers (competed up to 2’9”, trained to 3’2”)
• Saddleseat
• Western Dressage
• Western Equitation
• Showmanship
• Trail (he tries hard, but he’s a big guy in tight spaces)
He’s great on the ground — ties, bathes, self-loads, and enjoys heading out on quiet trail rides. Happy to go alone and just cruise along. Currently barefoot (and doing well), though he might appreciate boots or shoes if you’re showing regularly on rocky ground.
No maintenance, just does best with regular bodywork. He is selenium deficient, so he’ll need a lick or powder supplement added to his grain.
Ranger’s ideal home is with someone who’s kind, soft with their hands, and looking for a true partner to grow with. He’s ready to be someone’s next great teammate.
