Pickles - A superstar of a project! 🦄
Pickles is a 13.3hh dun pinto (grade) mustang gelding. His handsome socks, pinto coloring, dorsal stripe, and zebra stripes make him an eye catcher to anyone!
Pickles is not suited for anyone less than an intermediate or advanced rider. He has his quirks of being flighty at times, he’ll brace when feeling too held down (he responds best to loose and low contact), he needs a light and soft rider to bring him further along. He has difficulty rolling into and holding a canter, but is working on it every ride. He’s strongest at walk and trot. He has anxieties regarding mounting, but calms down quickly.
His past trainer took him to a couple jumper shows with decent results, but he hasn’t been hauled out or in a show environment in about 8 months. His cap for jumping is likely around 2’, his last trainer jumped up to 2’6, but at this time we feel he’s best suited for flat work until he can use his body better. An advanced kid or small adult looking to bring along a pony or intermediate kid in a program would be great!
He stands like a dream for farrier, bathing, clipping, and trailering. He has no stall vices or maintenance. Healthy on orchard hay and minimal grain/supplements. Impeccable ground manners, light on rider aids and very responsive to his handler.
