Smart Sebastian aka Bishop is the sweetest gelding ever. He may be big and intimidating, but he’s just a big baby. I’ve put all sorts of people on him from beginners to experts and he’s done well with all. I think he’d be best suited with either an advanced/intermediate rider who wants to compete or as a lesson horse who doesn’t leave the farm much. His preferred person would be someone interested in endurance, but he can also do some jumping. He can really go any direction. He has three lovely gaits that he picks up easily. His canter is perfect for new riders trying to find their balance as it’s smooth and gentle like a rocking chair. I ride him in English tack most of the time, but he’s fine with western. He loves a good bareback pad to go on a short trail ride. I ride him with a pad and halter down to the lake all the time to take a swim. He gets quite buddy sour when he’s alone in an arena and can be a challenge if he doesn’t have another horse in sight. That being said, I’ve ridden him alone on endurance rides and he’s an angel on the trail. Once you have him figured out, you’ll have lots of fun with him. I’ve competed in endurance races with him up to 30 miles, but he could easily do 50 or 75 if he was conditioned for it. He’s a saint on the trail and keeps a consistent trot or canter. He’s not spooky on the trail at all. He’s great at the vet checks and will be a gentleman for early morning tack ups. He’s wonderful at liberty and loves to play. He knows a couple fun tricks like spinning and smiling. He is just as wonderful on line as he is at liberty. He listens well and is eager to learn new things. Currently, he’s working on side passing, turn on the fore quarters, and opening the gate under saddle. He’s currently barefoot and does well. He requires a little maintenance but nothing unmanageable. He had a lameness evaluation done recently and has minor arthritis in his hind left leg, but the vet assured us that it was completely normal for his age, weight, and breed. He has his first injection on October 8th just to make him more comfortable. It doesn’t affect his performance at all. He loads in a trailer well, but does get anxious once he’s locked inside. Would prefer an open stock trailer over a closed in trailer, but will load into anything. I’m selling him with tack such as saddle pad sets, bridles, boots, blankets, fly mask, etc. He truly is a unicorn of a TB and I’m sad to have to sell him. He’s the most laid back TB I’ve ever met and really is the sweetest boy. He deserves a loving home with a family who will care for him just as much as I do.
