John Henry’s dam, Boom in the Night, was a veteran of California club shows before we snatched her up. She was a consistent winner and club favorite in all kinds of classes from ranch and trail obstacle courses to various challenges. Unfortunately, those are not paid or pointed events so there are only ribbons and trophies to show for it. Her sire, Night Deposit Chex, was a well known, sire of versatile competitors in reining, reined cowhorse and cutting. Her grandsire, Boomernic was a million dollar reining sire who helped set a new standard of collection and elegance in the show pen.
This cross of roping, reining and cow, along with substance and the great minds of his breeding, gives John Henry the advantage of outcross vigor, while holding to a superior standard of bloodlines.
