Metallic Malice is well known for siring versatile, great minded, tough competitors.

Calhoun is drop dead gorgeous, His conformation is correct, strong and elegant! Big hip and balanced shoulder. Clean legs and good tough feet. He gets a touch of refinement from his mother’s side in that clean throatlatch and beautiful head, Then there’s that color, I know, I know… but he literally shimmers silver in the sun.

Height and weight listed are estimated at maturity. He is currently 14 hands, 800 pounds.

Calhoun has great ground manners, very respectful, yet curious and bold. Plus, he is an absolute ham! Loves attention, and has more confidence than a chihuahua. He’d make a standout trick horse!

Here’s the catch. Although he is currently sound, and has never taken a bad step, examination on 10/2/2025 revealed that an early injury has caused bone remodeling in his left front pastern. He will likely require surgical correction after he matures. At that point he may be sound for light riding. All x-rays and vet notes available. As much as it breaks my heart, he is no longer considered a performance prospect.

So he is being offered as breeding sound only. With his mind, looks and genetics, his bad luck may just be the break you need to amp up your breeding program. He would make a strong complement for your reining, cowhorse, ranch or roping mares.

He’s a great colt. Vets were impressed with how good he was to work with, so I will be very selective in placing him, as his entire future depends on it.
