Annie is a grade red roan QH mare that vets aged at about 15-16. She’s around 14.3 hands. We’ve had her for a few years now and she was my daughter’s horse. She competed in youth rodeo, OHSET & playdays on her. Mostly used for gaming events and cattle events, drill (carried flags), and also some showing (my daughter preferred timed events). She qualified to state this last year in birangle & drill. She’s also been ridden extensively on trails around our place, and been used to rope the sled. Hasn’t done a lot of tracking cattle out of the box, but has done some. She’s also carried flags in the grand entry at most of the youth rodeos. My daughter had started working on using her for goat tying but very minimally. Annie is a sweet girl with a good disposition. She can be pastured with other mares or geldings and does great. She is not very mare-ish at all, which is super nice! Hauls great (loads & unloads safely), keeps well in a stall or panels. She is pastured in the summer and in the wet/muddy month she is out to pasture during the day & stalled at night. She has gotten ulcers on us before so we feed her Purina outlast daily, and give her a omeprazole when hauling or in stressful situations. Does well when ridden consistently or even of she has some time off and then you jump back on her she doesn’t skip a beat. Has never offered to rear or buck with us. Daughter has even hopped on her bareback in the pasture with no issues. We’ve thrown very beginner riders on her for trail rides and she’s done great and I honestly think she could be a good fit for any level of rider. I truly think she would excel in an OHSET/4H home, but would also be a good fit with anyone. Pic of her on my profile, reach out to me for more pics and videos of her competing.
