“Nyx” is a 6 year old Friesian/Thoroughbred mare standing a stout 15.3 hands high. This lovely lady has fabulous barn/stall/pasture manners. She stands tied to anything, stands for the farrier/vet, stands to be groomed and tacked/harnessed. She is not “mareish” and is lower on the totem pole in the field and is turned out with both mares and geldings.
Under saddle, Nyx will hack out both English and western. She has three balanced and flowing gaits followed by a simple stop. She takes on the trails with confidence and looks great doing it. She crosses mud, ditches, streams, ravines etc. she is safe with wildlife, joggers, strollers, scooters and other things you see out in state parks. Nyx will take on jumps with confidence and has a big floaty jump to her. She moves nicely off leg and is responsive to cues without being overly sensitive. She rides in a simple snaffle and requires nothing more.
Under Harness, this girl is a dream and as equally as simple. She will take you around the farm or safely down the road around traffic. Nyx stops, stands and backs when asked and walks on easily. This is a bright, willing, and confident mare with looks to boot that would make a fantastic addition to nearly any family.
