First time offered for sale, one of the very last producing sons of the legend – Zips Chocolate Chip with a pedigree packed with Hall of Famers. Always been in a small breeding program and did not stand to the public but has bred some really nice mares, siring over 60 foals all over the country and Canada and on both coasts. These foals are doing everything from barrel racing to pleasure and everything in between. He has bred all types of mares from pleasure (english and western) bloodlines, cow bloodlines, halter and race bloodlines. I like crossing him on halter bloodlines the best which adds strength and substance but his foals are nearly identical no matter what he's bred to. He has Skys Blue Boy's "exquisite" trot and passes that on to all his offspring, together with a lot of height. He has a lot of "cow" and speed and makes tremendous ranch horses with beautiful profiles and an incredible trot and fluid lope that is hard to match. His foals are confident, bold, fearless and make amazing partners that are suitable for youth, amateurs and professionals. They excel in disciplines where they will be challenged, physically and mentally. I get a lot of feedback from folks that they are very trainable, engaging and capable and they rarely change hands. He is super easy to handle, always being bred by one person. He has never shown any aggression towards humans in any way. My 13 year old grandson has cleaned his pen since he was 10 and I trust him around my 8 year old granddaughter. He has only live covered and I hold the mare and when signaled, he is allowed to approach. He has actually never been bred with even a halter on. If the mare is pretty easy, I just turn them in together. He is smart and having spent the first few years pasture breeding, is careful and has never been hurt. He has always been kept outside, in the rain and the snow, and during the winter is in a pasture next to the mares and never challenges the fence. In fact, he's pretty uninterested in them in the off season. He has had minimal care but is exceedingly healthy. He does, however, enjoy pampering and if he ever got his own stall, he'd probably never come out. He was profoundly injured as a yearling (he has no lingering effects from that injury) and was never shown but is passing his amazing genetics to his offspring which is the true mark of a stallion. I am nearing 70 and at 14, he has many more years left. I want him to continue to pass these genetics on and I hope to find the right program where he'll continue to bless his new owner as he's blessed me all these years. Countless pictures and video of offspring available. AA/EE (can only produce bay) 7 panel negative listed with the APHA Located in Northern Idaho
