Dora 15HH draft cross stout built 7 year old mare Dora is an adorable and thick built mare. She is broke to ride both English and Western, has been used to round up cattle, jumps a course of fences, trail rides, and been used in a lesson program. Dora has a bit of a unique story. She was in our program last winter for a couple of months, during which time we rode her WTC and she started jumping and was jumping small courses. Before us, she was ridden primarily western on trails and used for ranch work by a family and was the main horse for their 11 year old son to trail ride and use to push cattle. She was then sold to a lesson program where she ended up being used more for the beginner riders for WTC and jumping. After awhile, it became clear that Dora does not like being a beginner lesson horse. It is a very hard job and not for every horse. Dora seems better suited to either be a 1-person or a family horse, where her routine and the way she is being ridden is more consistent than the unpredictability of a variety of beginners on her. She will trail ride, WTC and jump for someone who is more secure with their signals and she could even be used for a program with non beginners students like teens or for vaulting. She has no vices, is an easy keeper, no maintenance, easy to have around, can go barefoot or shod, she is healthy and sound and has a clean PPE on file from last year. Her owner is asking 12K and is open to reasonable offers.
