Skye is a very easy going all around mare. She is amazing as a leader or follower on the trail, sweet lady for young riders and confident! She has a very stocky/muscular build and stands at 14.3hh. My beginner stepdaughter rode her this last summer with direction in a youth bareback drill team and Skye was an absolute doll! Skye is very level headed, not hot and doesn’t get worked up and hyper. She has a very calm demeanor about her. Myself and 3 friends have ridden her in different rodeos around the valley carrying sponsor flags on her. She is awesome on the trail, she will cross bridges, goes right into the water, steps over logs or obstacles and sure footed. Skye has been roped off of but not by me. She was used as a ranch horse before I bought her and she was used to work cattle and had ropes thrown off her. I have had her almost 5 years now. She has been nothing but amazing. Her only vice is from time to time she won’t want to be caught but she gives in after just a few minutes if she tries to run off. She loads, leads, bathes, amazing for farrier, trailers awesome. She is ridden and trained western and bareback. With direction I do let my 4 yr old ride her and they do awesome. Skye is light on the mouth and works off neck reining and leg pressure. She can be ridden W/T/L bareback with no bridle, just leather band around her neck. I have lots of other photos and videos as well
