Duchess has really smooth gates to sit to. She has lovely big movement with a lot of cadence. To no fault of hers, she has been put on the back burner therefore she hasn’t had the amount of training that most four year olds have. She has a lovely sweet disposition and begs for treats. Duchess understands the basic training level work, which consist of steady 20 m circles three loop serpentines, leg yields from center line and along the rail. She understands half halts and moving from the leg up into the hand. She stands quietly at the mounting block and also lunges quietly with side reins. She stands quietly for the Farrier and will stand in the Grooming stall after workouts as she dries off she will step right up into a horse trailer. Duchess does have spirit not in a bad way, but I would recommend her for a confident, intermediate or advanced rider, possibly a young rider. This horse has a lot of talent and can go all the way through the levels. She can be registered. The gentleman riding her in the videos has only been riding horses for a year and does a great job with her. Please no tire kickers. The mare is priced cheaply, is a good deal for someone who wants to take her and move up the levels. Duchess does not have any bad habits like cribbing or weaving, etc. she does not bite her kick and is very safe to be around. She is not on any maintenance and has been sound and healthy for us. We bought her as a two-year-old. A good home is a must.
