🇪🇸 2016 Andalusian gelding 📄 Registered IALHA 👋🏼 16.2 hands ⚡️Trail / Pleasure / Dressage 🌳 Located in San Diego, California El Tesoro Secreto is a 16.2H registered Andalusian gelding with a dressage foundation and countless trail miles. This big, beautiful boy is a fun all-arounder with an adorable, people-loving personality. Tesoro has lovely gaits and a wonderful uphill conformation. He’s had basic dressage training and demonstrates a potential to advance with additional training. This boy loves the trail. He has countless trail miles in varied locations, from city streets to the backcountry, with his AA owner. He’s not bothered by cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, or e-bikes. He has a very forward, ground-covering walk and the energy to go all day—he is not your “mosey down the trail” type. He crosses water like a champ. He goes out alone or in a group (in a group, he prefers to lead or ride side by side). He’s never barn or buddy sour. Tesoro has been in three parades and a handful of poker rides. He went on his first overnight family camping trip to Cuyamaca in October ‘25. He is truly well-rounded. Tesoro recently completed his first AERC limited-distance endurance ride in October ‘25 (25 miles)! He did great—he camped well, was fit and sound the entire ride, and passed all vet checks with flying colors. More LD endurance rides could be in his future. This guy is respectful on the ground. He’s easy to catch, halter, lead, tie, groom, saddle, lunge, and bathe. Good for the farrier and vet. He’s a bit ear shy; for bridling, just loosen a cheek piece before sliding the bridle over his ears and he’s fine. Sometimes he can be anxious trailering; he does best with a buddy and a hay net. He’s an intermittent cribber, though he does not crib while wearing his cribbing collar. In May ‘24, Tesoro was diagnosed with a mild suspensory strain in his back right leg. He was thoroughly rehabbed (rest, PRP, shockwave, laser) then cleared for work in September ‘24 with no reoccurrence. In December ‘24, he was observed mildly lame behind; vet injected hocks, stifles, and neck and he has been sound since. Vet records available on request. Tesoro has a lot of energy and big movement. He can spook or be anxious under saddle in certain circumstances. Therefore he’ll do best with an experienced rider and consistent work. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, well-rounded horse with dressage potential, Tesoro is your guy! Excellent home a must for this beloved boy. Video: https://youtu.be/5muV0-DHSJM?si=ZD_FLkIZosqaJWnj
