Shamrock is a kind and athletic 13-year-old, 16hh Thoroughbred looking for his next home. He retired from the track at age 6, sound, with no injuries and began his second career in combined training in dressage and stadium jumping with his adult-amateur owner. While disposition is more woah-than-go, he has great jumping range with a careful eye, schools 3’0” and has show experience up to 2’6”. Over the past year, his owner pivoted to focus on dressage training. He is currently in full-time training (5x per week) with a professional team, as his owner recently had a baby and is taking time off from riding. His previous two owners were intermediate adult amateurs, also first time horse-owners. He was only sold due to life changes and owners' time management. His owner wants him to go to a solid home with lots of love and care. Sham is an easy keeper, sound, with no maintenance needs, and a gentleman to handle on the ground. Polite in the barn, easy to engage with in the stall, and quiet at shows and during travel. Stands for vet, farrier, and clipping with ease. Loads onto the trailer with no issues. Slightly sensitive guy during grooming/saddling in cross-ties, but very manageable. An affectionate boy, he likes hugs and kisses in his stall and doesn't mind being handled in his space. Many who meet him comment on his sweet and calm disposition and willingness to try hard in training! His previous barn used him as the demo horse in summer camp programs with juniors due to his ground manners. This good boy shines in a program with a confident rider and would suit an intermediate adult amateur/junior or intermediate lesson environment. No lameness concerns, no vices. Dressage and jumping videos upon request. Located in Eastern Pennsylvania (Hellertown, PA). Price negotiable to a good home.
