14.1 hands, 17 years young, 100% sound, barefoot (rock hard hooves), smooth-as-glass gaits on this friendly and affectionate mare My 6 year old handles this girl on the ground and tacks her up solo. On the ground, she's gentle and patient with kids and beginners of all ages. In the arena, she can be ridden by a confident beginner. She's got a lot of energy--so not for a timid rider. She's not very spooky with traffic, dogs, deer, but she definitely needs a confident, advanced rider on the trails because she has bolted and spun. Both of these problems occurred for "good reason": she bolted due to a herd of elk that startled her at the same time several horses galloped at her in their pasture. She spun on a trail when a very sneaky dog jumped out and barked ferociously at her. Both things happened when she was out alone. She's much braver in a group. She jumps great, enjoys gymkhana games, and has been dressed up as a unicorn. Our family loves her, but we need a larger horse to accommodate our growing kids. Unfortunately, our wallet isn't growing as fast, and we simply can't support 2 horses. Her price is negotiable to the very best forever home.
