I’m putting my 17 y/o, 16hh registered Tennessee Walker gelding up for sale. This dude has been around. Sweet as can be, smooth as butter, and genuinely just a solid horse to have in the barn. Back in his younger days he rode all over the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. After that he spent a year as a lesson horse, so he’s got plenty of patience and miles with all kinds of riders. Now he only gets pulled out for casual trail rides every now and then. Even after time off, you can hop right on him and he will act like he’s never missed a day. He also neck reins like a champ! Super easy guy to ride. He can get a little speedy, but that’s his only downside. He’s best on the trail with a buddy. With another horse, he’ll go anywhere, any time, totally relaxed. If you take him out alone, he might get a little looky but he gets over it after staring for a few moments. No bolting, bucking, or any nonsense. Out in the field he acts like a 6 year old. He lovessss to play with his buddies. He’s higher on the totem pole, but not outright mean. He’s not afraid to correct the others. He’s been out with mares and geldings of all ages! He’s currently out 24/7 but does fine in a stall! On the ground he’s a complete angel. Stands for grooming, baths, fly spray, tacking up, farrier, you name it, he’s perfect. Super respectful, not pushy at all. He DOES need hay 24/7 to keep his tummy happy. He did have ulcers once in the past, but that has resolved and he does great with the consistent forage. He’s not on any grain right now. Not a hard keeper, just needs consistent snacks (relatable). He’s UTD on everything. Teeth, vaccines, farrier, chiropractic, the whole nine yards. Would make an awesome trail partner for someone who rides with a friend or likes a steady, been there done that type with plenty of life left.
